"I have a very personal connection with the Danube River because I grew up in the southern part of Ukraine, in the Odesa region where the river flows. I find it fascinating that the Danube often appears in Ukrainian folk songs. Through the river and these songs, I feel a deep connection with my heritage and ancestors, which makes it so special to me. That’s why I decided to make an arrangement of the old Ukrainian song, “Tykho, Tykho Dunaj Vodu Nese," for this project. I'd like to wish all of us not to be afraid of undertaking such amazing projects and to pursue your ideas and inspirations.
